Fascinating..

We went on an actual date last night.. remember those?

The hubby and I tried out a restaurant on the beach; it’s in a popular local hotel, so I was slightly nervous.. you know, Covid and all. If I had to title the story of my night out, I’d call it fascinating.

There were vacationers of all ages moving about, people sitting shoulder to shoulder at the two bars, the restaurant was bustling and the real surprise, there was a very big (business?) cocktail reception going on in a large room above the lobby..way over a hundred people standing, talking and drinking..waay over a hundred.

It was fascinating.. like I was at a zoo fascinating. “Look over there, it’s a herd of rhinos all hanging out chomping on grass..and over here..wow.. a pack of giraffes, neck to neck at the tree munchin’ on leaves, and on the left..a group of hyenas sharing a “meal” and looky over this way at the snakes slithering all over each other..and here WE are..NO FENCES, NO ENCLOSURES, NOTHING separating us from any of these freely roaming animals..and what’s that sound, a lion roaring in the distance? No, it’s a human coughing..”

–WHO’S COUGHING??

It’s a weird feeling…a bit tense fora minute, but you’re not quite sure why..it’s like holding a baby after it drank 8 ounces of milk in 2 minutes..you’re just ready..primed..for something..

It does feel so weird to be out in public now! I’m still not comfortable in big crowds.

I’m enjoying it..but it’s like I’m on level pink alert…not full on red, but not green yet either. 😂
