They arrived right on schedule yesterday..all six chairs I ordered from Pier One. The UPS guy pulled up to the driveway, honked his horn, opened the back of the truck and started stacking the boxes onto a trolley.
(Did you know UPS was founded in 1907?)
It was hot, and he was sweaty. The poor guy insisted the load was no big deal and that he delivers stuff like this every day. He even brought the boxes into my house!
And then off he went..and there I was staring at those six big boxes.
Not gonna lie, the excitement dimmed a bit when I opened the first box and saw these suckers were wrapped like mummies.
“This is going to take a while” I sighed..and it sure did.
One chair popped up with a broken piece which is exactly why I ordered from a place with an actual store nearby. I didn’t want to take the chance that I’d have to re-pack and return ship anything. My sister once had to do that with barstools and oh-what a pain!
Ordering online has its risks, especially if returns aren’t free. I still can’t believe we ordered a bathtub from Amazon a few years ago! Sheesh, what a roll of the dice that was!! Lucky for us, it arrived in perfect condition.
What is the BIGGEST item you’ve ever ordered online?
The picture of the wrapped chair is funny.

😯..I can only imagine..plus I’d have been scared that it wouldn’t have gone together properly — and THEN what?

Especially as I’m the handy one in the house. I’m happy my daughters had it for six years and it hasn’t broken yet….

I know how to do things, I’m just not very strong at tightening and such, and luckily my husband is good at taking direction and doing the manual part!

HAHA..better not let him hear the part about “taking direction..” 😉
