Reflections on the past week..

Our puppy turned one year old this past Friday.  We “celebrated” by taking her for a nice, long walk in the park.  Daisy is such a good girl and one of the great traits she’s developed is “checking in.” As we walk along, she intermittently turns her head to make eye contact with us.  Daisy checks in for reassurance, direction and (of course) the occasional treat.

This was such a busy (crazy) week that I too found myself checking in a lot with God for that same reassurance and direction. When you have four grown kids, something is always going on, and that’s on top of all the “stuff” you’re already dealing with in your own day to day life.

Humor and patience have always helped me along, but more than anything I treasure the opportunities I have to connect with God by reading his word, talking to other believers and listening to our pastor on Sundays.

Honestly, I don’t know how I’d make it without these important lifelines. I’m thinking I’d be a bit like a dog without an owner, frantically chasing squirrels and running around aimlessly in the park.

    • Morning Beth..yeah, humor for me is a huge coping mechanism for sure..sometimes all you can do is laugh..not a Santa belly laugh, more like a “really…realllly?” one. 😉
