I was intrigued by its simplicity, so I bought Moorea Seal’s little journaling book, 52 Lists for Happiness. In it I found a weekly prompt designed to get you to think about how you live your life. You don’t need to write a long story, you simply create a weekly list which makes the process easy-but no less revealing.
The first week you are asked to list what makes you happy right now.
I dutifully wrote down about twenty things. Moorea then asks you to identify how often you can actually experience what you put on your list. Clearly there are those things that I cannot do that often, like visit my kids, enjoy an expensive cocktail or eat Chinese food. (Yes, eating Chinese food is on my list..) I was surprised though that I have about 10 activities listed that I could actually effortlessly incorporate into my day, every day.
Can you imagine that?
10, super simple things guaranteed to brighten my mood that I can easily experience every single day.. how awesome is that? Some of these things I already do, but I think Moorea’s point is to get you to look at your list holistically and to recognize the power we have to maintain an elevated state of personal wellness by consciously, purposely, regularly tapping into that which makes us happy.
Writing this blog and enjoying my morning cup of coffee happen to be two of the items I listed..

On to the next 8.
I always think about this book…might have to do it

I had never heard of it before, but I was drawn by its simplicity..it’s like journaling (lite) .. with an actual purpose beyond just recording your thoughts..
