The Aztecs used to call the avocado tree “ahuacati” or the testicle tree. đ (God love those Aztecs ..never realized they had such a great sense of humor…did you?)
Avocados are not vegetables, they are single berry fruit.
Avocados are incredibly healthy..one fruit contains 975 mg of potassium-a banana only  contains 487. They also have 4 grams of protein and 81 mcg of lutein which is good for eye health.
One avocado is about 300 calories.
Rudolph Haas, an American mailman, patented his Haas avocado  in 1935. That original tree is still bearing fruit and  Haas is of course one of the most popular varieties of avocado today.

Just as an aside, I smash a bit of avocado on my sandwich instead of mayo. If I have an extra second, I’ll mash in a few drops of my infused olive oils like the Chipotle.- YUMMY!
