Remember the days of old, Consider the years of all generations.
It is quite impossible to drop your youngest child off at college without “remembering the days of old.”
But I try to be cautious as I dip my toe into the past. The water is usually warm and inviting, and if I sink myself in too deeply, it gets tough to climb out and face the chill of a future that’s always full of unknowns.
“Considering the generations” is an all together different exercise. When I put my life into generational context, everything seems smaller and more manageable. I am just one woman living one life; a tiny speck embedded in the timeline of the universe..one grain of sand on the beach.
This generational context serves as a gentle reminder to make the most of my days here on earth and to encourage my kids to do the same..even if that means moving away to do it.
